My New Favorite Song

The Official Site of Busted - Universal Records

This band sings my new favorite song. It is called "what I go to school for". It is sure to get stuck in your head.

I have been listening to Launch Music on Yahoo at work lately to fill in the desk time with music. This song came up as a random choice and I am now IN LOVE WITH THE SONG!!!! So if you have a yahoo account I suggest that you log in and listen to it. If you do you will be singing it the rest of the day.

Please do and tell me what you think of it. I would love to hear your opinion.

TGIF

After an exciting week of work it is finally friday!!! I do not have much to say except that I am exhausted!! Tonight we are planning on going to Star Spangled Celebration Richland Center and seeing Montgomery Gentry. Josh isn't a big country fan so this should be his kind of country music. They are pretty kick ass. I can't say that I call myself a country fan because I love all types of music (not electronica). Just give me something to listen to help with how I am feeling.

Tomorrow I am going to the Crafts in the Country and maybe the Spring Green Arts Festival. This is a GREAT weekend to live in Spring Green. Well kind of because the town is going to be filled with people who have no clue where they are going and it is going to be a little crazy. Josh is planning on going to the Cross Plains World's Fair to the car show saturday. Thank GOD it is going to be good weather, cool and sunny. It hasn't been that way in years, it is either rainy then hot and humid or just plain hot and unbearbly humid.

We had a successful wedding invitation week. We now have 70 assembled. We are going to have to do 40 more sometime next week. I want to be able to send Josh on Wednesday to the post office to see how much postage will be to send them. I hope we can order the necessary things for the favors soon then we can start on them.

Hope fun is had whatever you do.....

Auntie Em, Auntie Em, It's a Twister, IT'S A TWISTER!!!

It is officially storm season in Wisconsin! Last night we had several tornado's in the south central Wisconsin area. I happened to be having dinner with my friend at a bar called Rookies when a thunderstorm warning flashed across the screen. My friend is SCARED to DEATH of storms. So we decided to stay at the bar until the storm had passed. Well not even 10 minutes later a tornado warning flashed across the screen for the county that I live in. So I tried calling Josh to talk to him and of course I could not get a hold of him. I knew he was outside watching the storm. He finally answered the phone and casually informed me that he was outside with the camera taking pictures of the storm clouds spinning. What an IDIOT!! Of course I would have been doing the same thing if I was home. Whenever I hear warning the first thing I do is head outside!!!

A little while later the tornado warning came through for the area where the bar is. The bartender was watching the doplar and decided the storm was too close for comfort. So he yelled "That's it EVERYONE IN THE BASEMENT!" So we filed through the kitchen and down some dangerous stair into a small cramped office and a liquor supply room. We were down there for only 10-15 minutes then we got the all clear. The coolest part was since we were now behind the storm my girlfriend finally felt comfortable going outside. So we went out and watched the clouds swirling waiting for a funnel cloud to drop.

After leaving the bar I talked to my mother. My sister and her boyfriend went to see Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and they stopped the movie and made everyone get into the hallways. To me I think at dark theatre would be a safe place but apparently not. A tornado did not form but what they call a wall cloud pass over the area hitting Research Park in Madison very heavily which is where I currently work.

As I drove into research park it was a mess. The university soil testing facility lost most of it's roof. There are pieces of metal roofing from the soil testing trailers bent around trees. Trees were completely broken in half or gone. Apparently some of their cows died. The Business Bank on the corner is missing the "ness" and windows were broken out. There is debris everywhere. The daycare across the road lost a lot of it's playground equipment and it's fences were ripped down. The building next door had windows blown out. There was very minimal damage to the building where I work some trees were lost and minor roof damage. We were very lucky. Ir is hard to beleive a "Wall cloud" could cause this much damage. I am glad that it wasn't a "real" tornado I may have been out of a job.

Goodness Gracious Your Hair is on FIRE!

So my form of self expression has always been my hair color. No I have not ever gone crazy enough to go green or blue but have thought about it many times. So my roots have been starting to show and they have been driving me CRAZY. So a week ago saturday I went to Wal-Mart to see my honey and picked up some hair dye. I have been SO unbelievably busy that I haven't been able to dye it. Or maybe it was the hair Gods telling me something on the sly. Well last night I took the dog for a walk and when I returned home I HAD to take a shower because I sprayed mosquito spray on myself to prevent being eaten alive. Side note: Spring Green has to be the mosquito capital of the world DO NOT take your life into your own hands and go out without bug spray. You are fair game then. So I got home and said hey I have to shower again to remove the bug spray why not dye my hair too.

So I mix the special ingredients and started to add them to my hair. I started to panic a little when I wasn't even done and it was starting to turn red. I finished putting the dye in and sat down to watch Sex and The City on TBS as I wasn't cool enough to have HBO when the series started I wanted to start watching it. It can be my one TV vice for the summer since there are no more new Friends, American Idol or 24 episodes to watch. Anyway...after my 25 minutes I hopped in the shower remembering to take my special hair conditioner. I just briefly glanced at my hair in the mirror, it looked ok, but it is really hard to tell before you rinse the dye out.

I had to get in the shower because the mix of hair dye and bug spray was starting to asphyxiate me. By the time I was done the shower looked like someone slaughtered a pig. As I was rinsing out the dye I snuck a peek at my hair and panic washed over me. I finished showering as quick as I could. I left my hair up in the towel until the second episode of Sex was done. I was scared to death I brushed it out and thought oh it isn't too bad. Of course your hair looks darker when wet. By the time that Josh got home my hair was the color of a construction cone. I could direct traffic just by flipping my hair back and forth. I should stop on my way home from work and see if they need help..

The only comment from the peanut gallery was "Isn't your hair a little too red?" You have to understand I have wanted this color of red hair since I was little. I want little red-heads running around the house with freckles. My dad had red hair and I wanted to look like him. I have wanted this for so long!!!! Now I look like a traffic cone. I guess I will give it a week and see what road sign my hair turns into then.

Wedding Day Strangler

For our wedding we are making our own invitations, favors, programs and anything else to save money. Last night I asked Josh to perform a very simple and necessary task cutting raffia to the appropriate length to tie the invitations together. Simple enough right????? Obviously not if I am writing about it. He proceeded to pitch a royal fit!!! You would have thought that I asked him to pull his own leg hairs out one by one until they were all gone. I could not believe it!! So if he didn't cut the raffia who would??? Of course ME. It was easy enough cut the strings and put them in the box. It was easy enough and he could watch his precious Monday night Discovery channel at the same time. He whined and complained the whole time. On top of that Jackson kept taking the scrap pieces and running around the house with him. I tried SO hard not to laugh at that but it was hilarious!!! I was prety mad because this is just the beginning of the crap that needs to be done. Needless to say I packed his bags and send him on a huge guilt trip. Because I'll be damned if I am doing this all myself.

I know that the wedding is four months from tomorrow but we are SO busy with stuff this summer it is unbelieveable. I feel like everyone said to each other lets plan all of our weddings and have babies this year so that Josh and Jess have no money. How dare they......

Just another Manic Monday

I have been reading several weblogs in the past few months and was wondering how hard this could be. I am at a very exciting point in my life. We have a new puppy and are getting married. Besides this being an exciting time it is also VERY stressful and I hope to relieve some stress by blogging. Our wedding is october 23rd of this year. I am doing pretty good at the planning thing but sometimes I feel WAY overwhlemed when it comes to getting everything done.

My puppy is the cutest thing ever. He is a rat terrier. He turns 5 months old today! Happy BIRTHDAY JACKSON!!!! One month from now we will be taking awawy his manhood. Real nice parents we are huh? He has already become a horny little bastard and we cannot have that on our hands. The horny fiancee is enough for me.

And I wish it would stop raining. It feels like we have gotten three feet of rain in wisconsin. I don't think that we have had a week without rain since april. I know that we need it but the farmers are starting to suffer and if the river gets too much higher we will have to start taking a boat to work. It would definately be less traffic that way.
